4 side effects of good branding

4 side effects of good branding

You know, I’ve been doing some thinking. When you, as a business owner, invest in good (and I mean reaaally good. Like, game-changing good) branding it’s not something you should take lightly. In fact, I believe that good branding should come with a warning, highlighting some of the side-effects you’re likely to experience as a result of up levelling your branding. Here are 4 major ones I think you MUST be aware of.

Good branding will weed out irrelevant and outdated clients.

A big part of creating a truly great brand design is that will speak directly to your dream client. This means, those people who aren’t really interested in what you have to offer will simply fall by the wayside. In designing branding which makes it abundantly clear what it is you do and what you stand for, the people who contact you will share your values and will be genuinely intrigued by what you have to offer.

Good branding will establish your position as a leader in your field.

Remember that fun saying that goes something like, “dress for the role you want not for the one you have”? Well, this is also true for business. If you want your business to mix it with the big guns, you gotta look the part and, this means fresh and timeless branding. When you have a clear brand identify which is consistent and classy, there’ll be no questioning your legitimacy as a key player in your industry.

Good branding will make you SO proud of your business you’ll want to shout it from the rooftops.

Look, I’m sorry to say but, you’re going to turn into that guy. You know the one. The guy that, before you’ve even found out their name, they’ve shoved their smart phone in your face, insisting you scroll through photos of their brand-new baby. Only, your baby is your website. And your logo and, basically anything related to your brand. Where in the past you have avoided telling anyone the URL of your website, you’ll notice your site traffic go up exponentially as you tell anyone who will listen that they absolutely must check it out!

Good branding will make unexpected tasks so much easier.

When your branding is unclear and inconsistent it makes decision-making really challenging. Simple tasks like choosing an image to post on your socials or even hiring staff can be something you labour over for days. When you have solidified your brand pillars, you’ll be super clear on your business mission, values and vision which will ensure that knowing what to do and how to do it is something you’ll inherently understand.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, when your business has good branding, it will be the thread that pulls everything together. You’ll be clear on your mission and this will be obvious in everything you do and will draw those dream customers to you.
