With everything going on in your business, taking on an additional task such as building an email list can at times feel… a little pointless? I mean, LBH why would you even need one?
What if I was to tell you, that building an email list is the ultimate way to connect with your audience. Why? Emails are personal, targeted and help convert your subscribers into customers. Wanna know how to do it?
First up, some strategy needs to come into play. Long gone are the days where you can just ASK for someone’s email. Oh no, you’ll be outright laughed at if you have nothing to offer in return. The best way to get hold of that golden address is by exchanging some of your wisdom (packaged into a pretty lil Lead Magnet).
A Lead Magnet is a FREE item or service, given away for the purpose of, you guessed it – gathering contact details. This could be a trial subscription, sample, e-newsletter, free consultation, or our fave, the almighty E-Book.
An E-book is one of the best lead magnets you can offer. They can be digitally downloaded on any device and can be used to grow your audience on autopilot, and for the purpose of this blog I’m going to walk you through how to put one together.
Content
So how do you get started with creating content? You need to know your audience and think about one of the problems your business solves for them. Use this to guide your lead magnet. Without giving too much away, you want to give your audience a little taste of your knowledge and expertise, showcasing who you are, what you do and what someone can expect from working with you.
Design

Launch
Ahhh yes you heard me mention that beautiful word ‘autopilot’ above. Connect your E-book document file to your site and have it delivered via your CRM (that’s your email collection software) when someone signs up!
