24 Feb HOW TO BUILD A KICK-ASS BRAND
Why your business needs good design
In this day and age visuals are SO SO SO important for any business.
Did you know that 90% of all information is sent to our brain through our eyes? And that visuals are processed 60 000 times faster than text?
Lets take a minute to let that sink in…
So what does that mean exactly? It means that without kick-ass visuals your business will probably not get the same exposure nor be noticed by as many people which in turn will mean you will lose out on business!
Think of your brand as the stage on which your business will perform. It will normally be the first thing that your client will come into contact with, whether it is meeting you with a business card in hand, walking past your shop or coming into contact online through your website or social media page. From just it’s look and feel alone people will start to form opinions about what you do and most importantly, what you can offer them and why they would want to purchase with you.
Visual content drives engagement and will help people to better connect with your business, product or service. Which will in turn lead to sales and money in the bank.
This is where it all begins.
A GREAT BRAND WILL:
- tell a story
- resonate with its audience,
- be unique and stand out from the crowd.
- be memorable and appealing
SO HOW DO YOU BUILD A KICK-ASS BRAND?
Strategize what it is that will make your business unique
Find your unique selling point, your ‘sweet spot’, the thing that you do that makes your service special, unique and different from the next. Why are you in business? What is it that makes your business different from everyone else? What do you have that is special and unique? Another great exercise to perform is to work out your Mission, Vision and Values, to give you purpose and something to work towards.
Figure out who your ideal client is and build your entire brand around their wants and needs
When you try to please everyone you will lose your authenticity, your messaging will become a muddle and you will find by speaking to ‘everyone’ you will end up speaking to no-one.
In this day and age people want to foster an authentic and real connection with brands; they want to feel like you have their back and understand their needs. People have such different needs so trying to please everyone will never work.
Hone in on who your target audience is, learn about them and figure out what it is they will want to get from your service.

Devise a branding strategy
Now that you know who your ideal customer is you need to devise a branding strategy to suit their needs. This includes your messaging, tone of voice and brand visuals (these are things like your logo, fonts, brand colours and imagery).
Think from the ground up.
Your brand is the sum of experiences customers have with your business. It’s your philosophy, your way of way of doing things and providing them with a unique experience that can’t be had anywhere else. This means that every touch point your customers have with your brand needs to resonate your brand strategy and be developed in a way that will ‘talk’ to your ideal client,
Be Consistently Consistent
From here on in make sure EVERYTHING to do with your brand is always consistent. Your logo, your colours, your style of imagery, your tone of voice, your messaging. It always needs to feel the same and look the same so your client knows wherever they are and whatever they receive from you it is from YOU, and you alone.
